President Paul von Hindenburg today decided to postpone the appointment of a new Chancellor for several days.

The decision was adopted after the president had consulted with the council of his closest advisers.

President von Hindenburg will, it is believed, be compelled to appoint a new presidential cabinet, since Dr. Ludwig Kaas, leader of the Center Party, returned his commission after leaders of the other parties had refused to co-operate with him, the only exceptions being the People’s and Bavarian People’s parties.

Some circles see a likelihood that Chancellor Franz von Papen may be recalled to replace himself.
