The Council of Histadrut, the Israel Federation of Labor adopted a resolution at its meeting here this week-end, calling for “an all-out effort” on the part of organized Israel labor for absorption of the new immigrants arriving in this country. The resolution urged the continuation of development projects that would furnish employment for the newcomers.
In a dispute over Histadrut elections, members of the Council representing three parties walked out of the meeting. The dissenting parties are Mapam. Ahdut Avodah and Haoved Hatzioni. The dispute will be decided by the labor federations executive committee.
