Members of the Histadruth, Palestine Labor Federation, joined by Revisionist workers, went on strike yesterday in Gan Sharon orange groves as a protest against the employment of Arab labor, which undercuts Jewish labor.
The Gan Sharon orange groves are owned by Canadian Zionists. It is feared that bloody clashes will result between the striking groups and the Arab employes as well as the employers.
The entire Sharon region is aroused over the incident. A group of seventy workers, headed by Ben Gurion, Histadruth leader, has been organized to picket the plantations. The pickets are determined to prevent Arabs from working in the groves.
