Four members of the Histadruth today called upon Secretary of Labor Lewis C. Schwellenbach and Under Secretary of Labor David Morse and asked them to convey the thanks of the Histadruth to the President for this Government’s stand backing the development of a Jewish state in Palestine.
The delegation also called on Allan Haywood, vice-president of the CIO, and upon William F. Green, president of the AFL. Green said that they had the “uncompromising assurances” of the AFL that we “will stand by you all the way through.” Included in the delegation were Abba Hushi, Joseph Bankover, Menahem Bader and Don Pines, all members of the executive committee of Histadruth, and Joseph Schlossberg.
