Jews of America were urged to “rise to their historic task” in a Rosh Hashanah message cabled by the Histadruth from Palestine.
Pointing out that “the eyes and the ears of half the Jewish nation bound in Death’s prison are undoubtedly turned to you,” the message states, “we deeply believe in the political moral and material strength of American Jews which prompts them to help build our national edifice resolutely and quickly.” A hope that the New Year “may bring salvation for the world and for the Jews and a gathering in of the dispersed to our homeland,” concludes the message.
