A cruel demonstration was made at Breslau against “Aryan Women living in intimate relations with Jews contrary to the racial principles of the new State.” A procession of veteran storm troopers with a bugler at their head, marched through the city carrying placards on which the names of the women to be pilloried were inscribed. They were joined by numerous sympathizers in mufti. Before the home of each of their victims the S.A. men drew up in formation, while the neighbors were summoned with bugle calls and shouts of “Germany awake!” The name of the offending woman was then chalked on the pavement.
Lists of such women are regularly published in National- Socialist Schlesische Tageszeitung under the heading “On the Pillory.”
