The anti-Semitic wave begun by the Hitler campaigners continued to mount today as the 94th case of desecration of Jewish cemeteries was reported. The latest outrage was performed by unknown vandals in a Jewish cemetery at Welonghoven, on the lower Rhine. Numerous tombstones were smashed.
That anti-Semitism of the National Socialists does not entirely prevail in Germany was indicated by the appointment of Hedwig Braun, daughter of a well known Jewish family of Frankfort, to the position of judge in the country court. She is the first woman to occupy a high post in the German courts.
At the same time the diet at Essen rejected a motion made by the National Socialist faction to prohibit the Jewish butchers from practicing the forms of slaughter required by the Jewish ritual laws of schechita.
