Adolph Hitler, National Socialist leader, whose party won 230 seats in the new Reichstag, constituting the largest party, but falling short of a majority, today formally declined to become Vice-Chancellor of Germany a position which would have been created for him and which would have included the Premiership of Prussia.

Hitler declined the post at a conference with Chancellor Franz Von Papen today.

The Nazi chieftain, it is understood, is insistent that he be made Chancellor with absolute control of the cabinet.

Hitler also refused an offer of the Ministry of Interior for one of his lieutenants.
