Fear, rather than love or respect, is the secret of Hitler’s power over the German people, says Jacob Richman, formerly of Braunschweig, Germany, who arrived here to make his home with his sons, Herman and Bernard Richman.

Residents of Germany more than forty years, Mr. Richman and his wife left the country about two months ago because they felt that conditions in the Reich were bad and steadily growing worse.
