Replying to a German propaganda campaign for the release of Nazi war criminals still in detention here, the Dutch Minister of Justice, Dr. Leendert Donker, has released a list of 39 German war criminals who are serving life or long-term prison sentences. Most of them, according to the list, had been sentenced for their part in the ill-treatment, murder and deportation of 100,000 Dutch Jews.
Among those listed is a 32-year-old German Jew, Bernard Joseph. He had been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment for collaborating with the German security services and assisting Nazis in the search for Jews who were in hiding.
