Holland, which was one of the first countries to enforce a compulsory Sunday observance law, will modify the law considerably, in accordance with the terms of a bill just submitted to the Dutch parliament by the Minister of Economics. Under the new law, Jewish merchants will be permitted to open their shops during certain hours on Sunday, while Jewish provision shops will be allowed to remain open all day Sunday.
