The Dutch government is now considering the advisability of abrogating its international convention of 1902 with Germany, it was learned here today.
This convention is responsible for the refusal on Monday of the Marriage Registration Bureau at the Hague to grant a marriage license to a German Jew and a Dutch woman. Under the convention the new laws passed in Germany Sunday against intermarriage between Jews and “Aryans” must be respected by Holland as regards its aliens of German origin.
Today the Marriage Registration Bureau reversed its decision of last Monday and issued a license to the Jew and Dutch woman, in view of the fact that their application had been made before the new German marriage laws were enacted.
