Holocaust victims and their heirs in Texas will now be allowed to bring action against an insurer to receive proceeds from unpaid insurance policies, under legislation signed into law. The law is similar to legislation that passed in five other states as well. The U.S. State Department objects to state laws allowing such lawsuits, saying they interfere with implementation of international compensation agreements.
