During the Jewish year 5694, the Jewish population of Palestine contributed thirty thousand pounds (approximately $150,000) to the Keren Kayemeth, the Jewish National Fund for the reclamation of Palestine land. Collections took place in 130 centers. Twenty-five thousand pounds were received directly at the Central office for Palestine, three thousand pounds from the Arlosoroff Memorial Campaign, and two thousand pounds from the campaign for relief of German Jews conducted in Palestine.
The sources of the direct income were a certain fixed percentage of all individual incomes and salaries, personal quotas, the mill contribution from banks, theatres and cinemas and contributions from children.
