All phases of home camps and play schools were discussed at an all-day conference of the Child Study Association of America and the Jewish Welfare Board at the Young Women’s Hebrew Association, 31 West 11th street.
Arthur L. Swift Jr., field director of the Jewish Theological Seminary, presided at the morning session, at which reports were made by LeRoy E. Bowman, director of Extension Activities of the Summer play schools of the Child Study Association; Louis Kraft, director of Jewish center activities of the Jewish Welfare Board and Jean Schick Grossman, parent education associate of the Child Study Association.
Other speakers were Dr. V. T. Thayer, educational director of the Ethical Culture School; Theresa Gunther, instructor in the department of education of Brooklyn College; Betty A. Davis, Elizabeth De Maris and S. D. Gershovitz.
