The spacious home of Sol Weil and the late Mrs. Sol Weil was formally accepted and opened this week by the Mayor of Goldsboro as the new home of the Goldsboro Public Library. The home was presented to the city and remodeled for library purposes by Lionel Weil, Mrs. A. Oettinger of Goldsboro, and Mrs. Leon Straus of Cleveland, children of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Weil.
A beautiful bronze tablet was also unveiled at the dedication ceremonies by the Library Board in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Weil. The late Mrs. Sol Weil was also the founder of the Goldsboro Public Library, which until now was housed in the City Hall.
Mayor J. H. Hill, in his address of acceptance, praised highly the generosity and civic spirit shown by the Weil family. The ceremonies were presided over by Judge D. H. Bland and the opening prayer was delivered by Rabbi Iser L. Freund of this city.
