Maurice B. Hexter, Executive Director of the Federated Jewish Charities of Boston, was the guest of honor at a dinner Monday night at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, on the eve of his departure for Europe to assume duties there in connection with the Jewish Agency for Palestine. Mr. Hexter, who has resigned from the directorship of the Jewish Charities, will sail for England on the “IIe de France” on November 8.
Felix M. Warburg, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Agency, Dr. Solomon Lowenstein, James N. Rosenberg and M. J. Karpf of New York, were among the 125 guests present. Louis E. Kirstein acted as toastmaster.
Mr. Hexter’s services in Jewish social welfare work, his investigation of immigration possibilities in Mexico, his study of conditions in Europe as the representative of the Joint District Committee and as Secretary of the Joint Palestine Survey Commission, were reviewed by the speakers.
