A gathering of Anglo-Jewish artists, writers and community leaders was held at the Ben Uri Art Gallery to mark the publication of “Jews in Transition,” a new book by S. J. Goldsmith, European editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. The reception was sponsored by the Ben Uri Art Society. Alderman Michael Fidler, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said Mr. Goldsmith’s book of essays reflected the achievements of British Jews as “all the Jews that live, work and create here, even if they are not born in the British Isles.”
