Samuel C. Lamport of New York was received by President Hoover at the White House yesterday and conferred with the President on matters affecting the textile industry.
Following the interview it was learned that Mr. Lamport proposed that the United States government take steps to facilitate the opening of foreign markets for American textile products to a greater extent than in the past and thus assist in coping with the difficult situation now confronting the textile industry in the country.
Inauguration of a Jewish center on the North Side, Chicago, will be celebrated at a dinner at which new officers of the Congregation Anshe Emes will be installed on Wednesday evening in the community house. The President is Isadore Cohen, Rabbi Solomon Goldman of Cleveland will be the Rabbi of the Congregation.
