The delegates to the annual session of the American Jewish Congress, which will take place in Washington, October 19, will be received by President Hoover at the White House on October 20, it was made known today by the President’s office. Five hundred delegates, representing Jewish national organizations and communities throughout the country are expected to attend the session.
The session, which will discuss various problems affecting the position of the Jews in the countries of Eastern Europe and the situation in Palestine, will have as its guest of honor and chief speakers, Sir Harry Snell, Labor member of the British parliament, who will present to the American public the views of liberal public opinion in England on the subject of the reconstruction of the Jewish National Home under the terms of the British Mandate.
