Horacio Lafer, prominent Brazilian Jew, was today named Foreign Minister by President Juscelino Kubitschek. He has been a member of Parliament for many years, and at one time held the post of the Minister of Finance.
Mr. Lafer has always taken an active interest in the United Jewish Appeal of Brazil and was interested also in other Jewish causes here. He is a member of the Klabin family, a famous Brazilian Jewish family and is the head of the huge industrial enterprises in Brazil owned by this family.
