Complete shut-down of all Jewish-operated shops in Faltow is reported today by the newspaper Ostland. The shut-down is the result of popular indignation against a Jewish merchant named Eick, who told some of his friends that he saw the Nazis brutally mistreat a Jewish salesman from Koenigsberg. According to Eick, the salesman died in terrible agony six days after the assault.
As a reprisal for this “cruel propaganda” the population of Faltow has taken the law into its own hand, and forced all Jewish shops to close.
