Admiral Nicholas Horthy, Hungarian regent, today launched the first Danubian steamer intended for regular trade and traffic service between Hungary and Palestine.

In the presence of a large crowd, which included leading Hungarian Zionists, Admiral Horthy named the vessel “Budapest.”

The first cargo the new ship will carry to Haifa, Palestine, will consist of Hungarian products. The money received for the cargo will be turned over to the Jewish National Fund. The Hungarian government has granted permission for transfer of funds collected for the Jewish National Fund in the country to Palestine in the form of Hungarian goods.
