Thousands of Iraq Jews lined up for hours in front of the Bagdad synagogue to register for immigration to Israel recently, the Transjordan-controlled Ramallah radio reported today.
The report added that 2,000 persons registered in the first two hours after the lists were opened. The bulk of the would-be immigrants are small merchants and workmen who are liquidating their assets in preparation for emigration. They are ##rmitted to take with them cash up to ten dinars ($21) and belongings valued up ## 30 dinars.The forthcoming sessions of the Jewish Agency executive and the Zionist Actions Committee here this month will consider plans for the speedy transfer of Iraq ##ws to Israel. The Agency is currently studying the transportation problems involved.
