Thousands of men, women and children paid tribute here to Sir Isaac and Lady Wolfson who visited Acre to dedicate a new housing project named for them. Two-thirds of 520 new homes are already occupied. The occupants include new immigrants, young couples, veterans and 22 Arab families.
The gathering included Foreign Minister Abba Eban, Dr. Israel Goldstein, world chairman of Keren Hayesod, American Ambassador Walworth Barbour, former Premier David Ben-Gurion, Norman Aspin, counsellor at the British Embassy and many others. The Acre Chief Rabbi presented to the benefactors and the new project his blessings and those of the Acre Religious Council.
