How the pro-Palestine work is viewed by the German anti-Semites is gathered from a report in the Hitlerist organ, “Voelkischer Beobachter.”
The paper writes:
“Before the war it would have been high treason for a State Official in Germany to help on a Jewish work, the President of Silesia said at a meeting held in Breslau by the German Committee to promote Jewish settlement in Palestine. The Republic, however, he proceeded, stands on new liberal ground which makes for the promotion of all efforts of national revival. He read a letter from the Federal Premier, Herr Mueller, also commending the Palestine work.
“Certainly, it would have been montrous before the war,” comments the “Voelkischer Beobachter,” “for a German State Official to help on a foreign Jewish activity. At that time it was understood that officials have to serve their own nation, not alien nations, especially a nation like the Jews, whose members insult Germany every day. Now we must look on while our officials work for an alien Asiatic people,”
“The German wireless is monopolized by Jews, and even Christmas carols are broadcast by Jewish singers,” Deputy Gieseler, of the German National Party, complained in the Prussian Diet recently. “Germans hardly ever get a chance to speak at the microphone,” he said. “I want to ask the Government whether it intends to take any steps to give Germans a chance to speak or sing from the wireless stations in Germany.”
