Secretary of State Cordell Hull, questioned at his press conference today about reports that George Rublee, director of the Intergovernmental Refugee Bureau, intended to resign, said that the Government had no information about any such resignation and was not considering a successor.

When Mr. Rublee was appointed he was not expected to stay in Europe indefinitely, Mr. Hull said. In the meantime, however, the Washington lawyer is giving the refugee problem his ability, energy and tact, although the problem is not free from difficulties, the Secretary of State declared.
