With Vice President Elect Hubert H. Humphrey as principal speaker, 400 key Jewish leaders from all over the country will formally launch the United Jewish Appeal’s nationwide campaign. Saturday evening, January 9, at the May-flower Hotel here, it was announced today.

The leaders, headed by Max M. Fisher of Detroit, 1965 UJA General Chairman, will be convening for the organization’s two-day National Inaugural Conference which traditionally serves as the “kick-off” of the UJA’s Annual National drives. The totals, which will be announced at the conclusion of the Conference on Sunday, will be made up of the personal contributions of the leaders attending, plus initial sums raised in a number of communities throughout the country in preparation for this event. This year’s UJA drive will seek $109,400,000.
