Democratic Presidential candidate Hubert H. Humphrey has accepted an invitation to be a guest Wednesday at a meeting here of the Council of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. The group is made up of 22 major national Jewish organizations. Rabbi Herschel Schacter, organization chairman, extended the invitation. He said “the meeting will provide an opportunity to review Mr. Humphrey’s position on questions of major importance to the U.S. Jewish community and to exchange information and views.” Former Vice President Richard M. Nixon, the Republican candidate, addressed the group last week.
