More than four hundred persons attended the funeral services for the Rev. Mendel Jacobson, for many years cantor at the Jewish Theological Seminary, at the Hirsch & Schwartz Funeral Chapel yesterday morning. Professor Louis Finkelstein, registrar at the Seminary, officiated. Burial followed at the Riverside Cemetery, N. J.
Rabbi Jacobson, 68, residing at 535 West 135th street, died at Mt. Sinai Hospital Tuesday following an abdominal operation. He was a Talmudic scholar and was interested in Jewish affairs.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Deborah Jacobson; six daughters, Mrs. Sarah L. Robbins, Mrs. Jeanette Leff, Mrs. Blanche Shepard, Mrs. Rita Hankoff, Mrs. Gita Lewis and Mrs. Naomi Siegel; and two sons, Jack and Jesse Jacobson.
