Hundreds of Jewish activists from across the United States and Canada are arriving in Washington for the annual conference of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, an umbrella group of national agencies and local community relations councils. Vice President Al Gore and former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres are scheduled to address the gathering, which begins Sunday and also features side conferences for Hillel college students and environmental activists.
