Many of the 2,000 Jews in Sudetenland, who, according to the Munich four-power agreement are entitled to opt for either German or Czech citizenship, are threatened with becoming stateless. Assumption of German citizenship is impossible for them, and, on the other hand, the Praha authorities refuse to grant Czech citizenship to Jews unable to prove that they never acknowledged membership in the German national minority. Jews residing outside the occupied area before Oct. 10 automatically retain Czech nationality
