Hundreds of yeshiva students, led by Rabbi Haskell Lookstein, principal of the Ramaz School, proved and sang at the Isaiah Wall across from the United Nations this afternoon and lit candles for Jews denied their right to observe their religion in the Soviet Union. Participating was Mrs. Bella Ulman, mother of 26-year-old Mischa Ulman of Riga, who lost his engineer’s job after applying for emigration. The rally was sponsored by the Greater New York Conference on Soviet Jewry.
