Reports reaching here state that the Hungarian Ministry of Education has issued instructions that all books left behind by dissolved Hungarian Jewish communities, whose families have, emigrated, should be appropriated by the library of the Hungarian National Museum.
The library, according to these reports, has already received many religious volumes, including Takmudic and Biblical works. It is believed here that the Hungarians plan to export these volumes abroad to obtain much-needed foreign currency.
