A party of 207 Jews arrived at Haifa today from Hungary. The travellers reported that some 25,000 Hungarian Jews have applied for permission to leave Hungary for Israel. They also estimated that some 600 middle class Jews are being expelled from various Hungarian towns weekly and that 10,000 have already been shipped out of Budapest.

The air lift operation taking Iraqi Jews from Baghdad has been speeded up with the addition of two more planes. In the Last 24 hours a total of 300 immigrants arrived by plane. These travellers, giving details of the latest anti-Jewish excesses in Iraq, report that airfield officials at Baghdad looted the personal belongings of the immigrants.

Of the 106,000 Iraqi Jews who arrived up to the first of July, at least 500 were teachers. They are presently undergoing intensive training in the Hebrew language so that they can become teachers in the immigrant work villages. It has been estimated that before the current Iraqi immigration is over at least three times the number of Jews will have come to Israel as returned to it from the Babylonian exile under the lead of the Prophets Ezra and Nehamia 2,000 years ago.
