A seven-point resolution stating the position of Hungarian Jewry on the solution of the Palestine issue was adopted by an outdoor mass meeting here attended by thousands of persons. A copy of the resolution will be forwarded to the U.N. General Assembly and the Special Committee on Palestine.
The resolution urged the establishment of a Jewish state in accordance with the Balfour Declaration, the immediate opening of the gates of Palestine to Jews with priority to European and Cyprus DP’s, abrogation of the White Paper and evacuation of British troops. It also asked the inquiry committee to bring in a report permitting the Jews to create their own state in Palestine, demanded justice for the long-suffering Jewish people and called on the Palestine Government to cease activities which hinder the development of the country and tend to obstruct the creation of a Jewish state.
