A memorial plaque honoring the Jews of Szeged who died during the war at the hands of the Nazis and Hungarian fascists was this week unveiled in the central synagogue at Szeged.
A total of 1,640 names are listed on the tablet, which was placed on the front of the building. More than 2,000 Jews and hundreds of non-Jews, including municipal authorities and representatives of veterans and anti-fascist organizations, attended the dedication ceremonies.
