The Hungarian Nazi Arrow-Cross paper, Palotai Kurir, has been suspended indefinitely in the Government’s drive on extremists. The liberal daily, Pesti Naplo, was suspended for a month for erroneously stating: “We consider the spokesmen of the extremists heroes” when it meant to say “not heroes.”
It was officially announced that civil servants are not permitted to join “the Hungarist movement of the Hungarian Nazi Party.” Meanwhile, police supervision of Major Ferenc Szalasi, former Nazi leader, and of some of his followers was lifted, the Interior Ministry declaring that supervision was made superfluous by the adoption of the bill safe-guarding public order.
