Ladislaus Endre, Assistant Minister of Interior in the last Hungarian pro-Nazi government who was in charge of “Jewish affairs, ” will be brought to Budapest for public trial as a war criminal responsible for the extermination of 100,000 Hungarian Jews, it was announced here today.
Endre, who organized the ghettos for Jews in Dudapest and in other Hungarian cities, is now in the hands of the American military authorities in the Salzburg district of Austria. He directed the deportation of Jews from Hungary to extermination camps in Poland and supervised the confiscation of Jewish property.
