After having served one-half of his eighteen months sentence and having paid a fine of $27,000, Baron Ludwig Hatvany, Jewish novelist and political writer, has been granted amnesty by the Regent, Admiral Horthy.
Baron Hatvany, while in Vienna, had written a series of articles which attacked the present form of government, for which he was arrested immediately upon his return to Budapest. He was at first sentenced to seven years imprisonment, which was later reduced to five, then to one year and a half.
