Hungarian nationalist students today continued their attacks on Jewish students at the Polytechnic Institute here and at Szegedin University. The Jewish students were forced to leave the university grounds at the latter institution. The former was closed by the authorities.
A meeting of rectors of the colleges where anti-Semitic disorders are occurring, will be held Monday to determine the penalties to be inflicted if the students continue their disorders despite the orders of the Hungarian Ministry of Education and the university authorities.
An appeal to Jewish students in the universities to maintain discipline was issued by the Union of Jewish Students. The appeal urged the Jewish students to wait and see whether the reports that the Minister of Education, Prof. Balint Homan, had promised to fulfill the demands of the anti-Semitic students were correct. The student demands were for a numerus clausus restricting the number of Jewish students in the universities, limiting of opportunity for them to enter professions after graduation and segregation in the class rooms.
