The Hungarian authorities have refused to grant a visa to the Israel String Quarter who was to represent Israel at the Budapest Festival opening tomorrow,
The Quartet had received an official invitation from the directorate of the Festival several weeks ago. The arrangements for its departure yesterday were completed, when the Hungarian Legation suddenly notified the musicians yesterday that their visas had not been approved in Budapest.
