The Hungarian press yesterday published a government communique revealing that American military authorities in Germany have refused to extradite Laszlo Megay, wartime major of Ungvar Ushgorod, who is charged with having supervised the liquidation of the town’s ghetto. Megay, who is presently impressed in the U.S. zone of Germany, faces the death penalty if he is extradited to hungry.
