The “Neue Freiepresse”, the leading Viennese daily, comments today on the statement of the Hungarian Minister of Education, Count Klebelsberg, made in an interview with Jacob Landau, managing director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
Count Klebelsberg stated to Mr. Landau that the numerus clausus law in Hungary will automatically cease to exist when it will become unnecessary.
The “Freiepresse” remarks that the Hungarian universities in the provincial towns are disappearing. The paper cites an instance of the College of Philosophy at Szegedin, where there are only 27 students and a faculty of 54 professors and assistant professors.
