The Jewish Delegation from Jerusalem was royally greeted upon their arrival in Amman to confer with King Hussein of Hedjas who is in conference there with Arab leaders over the proposed Anglo-Arab Treaty and the pan-Arabic Confederation.
The Jewish Delegation, with the exception of Colonel Fred H. Kisch, member of the Palestine Executive and political advisor of the World Zionist Organization, has just returned to Jerusalem and tells of the very cordial reception accorded them by King Hussein. Four horsemen awaited the delegates outside Amman and escorted them to Hussein’s palace where they had two interviews with the Hedjas King in the presence of Emir Abdullah, who is a son of King Hussein and ruler of Transjordenia, and his Ministers. Major Philby, British representative in Transjordania, was also present.
A dinner was given in honor of the Delegation and Rabbi Meir toasted Hussein. All speeches of the Delegation were in Hebrew. King Hussein conferred upon Rabbi Meir the Highest Order of the Grand Cordon.
