The State Department announced today that King Hussein of Jordan will visit this city next month as part of a tour of several lands. The visit, which is expected to take place before mid-month, was described by spokesman John King as having been arranged “by mutual activity.” He said he could not say at this time if King Hussein would see President Nixon. Diplomatic sources said, however, that for the monarch to visit the American capital and not see the President was unthinkable. The Jordanian Embassy declined comment on the announcement. In another development, Soviet Ambassador Anatoly F. Dobrynin was scheduled to meet this afternoon with a lower-level State Department official, but it was not disclosed whether he would discuss the Jewish student demonstration last Friday at the local offices of Tass, the Soviet news agency, or the new American raids into North Vietnam.
