Hundreds of refugees fled from northern Jordan today as King Hussein’s forces stepped up their attacks on Palestinian guerrilla bases there. According to reports from American, the royal troops engaged the guerrillas in the wooded hills around Jerash. A guerrilla spokesman in Beirut claimed Hussein’s forces were using artillery on an unprecedented scale. Jordanian tanks and infantry were also reported to be engaged.
