I. M. Rosenberg, a Jewish business man, is the unanimous choice for mayor of Canisteo, a thriving manufacturing village of 2,500 inhabitants, located 60 miles from Elmira. The election will be held March 19. Mr. Rosenberg came to Canistco 30 years ago from New York City. There are only three Jewish families in the village.
Mr. Rosenberg was chosen on a Fusion ticket. He is a Republican, but he has been endorsed by Democrats. He served the village as officer before, having been Mayor of Canistco in 1921. From 1918 to 1920 he was one of the village trustees.
