A resolution urging the establishment of a Hillel Foundation at the University of Texas, at Austin, was adopted at the last day’s session of the Convention of District Grand Lodge No. 1 of the Independent Order B’nai B’rith.
Local lodges were urged to institute a budget system for the various Jewish activities throughout the United States and for the specific B’nai B’rith institutions.
Leopold Strauss of Montgomery, Ala., was elected District President; Maurice Hirsch of Houston, Texas, First Vice President; Charles Jacobson of Little Rock, Ark., Second Vice-President; A. A. Marks of New Orleans, Treasurer and Myron A. Goldman, Secretary.
