Announcement of a campaign to raise one million dollars in District No. 2, Independent Order, B’nai Brith, for new buildings for the Cleveland Jewish Orphan Home, was made by Fred Lazarus, Jr., of Columbus, Ohio, president, at the annual meeting of the Home. The meeting was attended by representatives of communities included in the District, comprising Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
Campaign headquarters have been established at Columbus, and it is the aim of the Campaign Committee to have the drive completed not later than December 31st of this year. Members of the Campaign Executive Committee, in addition to Mr. Lazarus, are Louis J. Borinstein, Indianapolis; Rabbi Samuel Mayerberg, Dayton, Ohio; Philip Schier, Kansas City, Mo.; and E. J. Schanfarber, Columbus, Ohio, Isidor Coons, who directed the National Field Service for the United Jewish Campaign, will act as Executive Director of the Orphan Home fund raising program.
